That does sound pretty high. When I got tired of being dizzy from fumes I had duals put on my truck. 2" pipe with Dynomax turbo mufflers for $200. That shop is gone now that I need to change to 2 1/2" Called one place in town a few months ago and they were saying easily $400 - 475 for 2 1/2" pipe, no mufflers and an x pipe. I thought that was outrageous!

lmc vs. JC Whitney

Sounds like these kits are the same. I ordered the one for my dad's truck with turbo mufflers for $180 shipped to my door. It was also a "Heart throb" system. After I solved the puzzle (kinda frustraiting) I marked everything and broke out the mig welder. Worked out pretty good. It was 2 1/4" aluminized. Definitely couldn't beat it for the money. I believe that JC Whitney is the cheaper choice for the same item so I'd go with them.

I charge 350 for short bed trucks and 450 for long beds, thats from the engine to the bumper, with 14 gage pipe, good hangers or choice on welded or clamped and cross over pipe.I also make my own collectors and use purma seal gaskets.the midis and other chain stores use 16 gage or lighter pipe,i think those kits are 18 gage....just my 2 cents

I found shops really very in prices even in the same town, 250 bought me full 2 1/2" duals with life time mufflers, and another shop wanted 250 for two tail pipes, guess where I went

I think if you go to national muffler shops like Midas they charge a little more becase they like to do newer cars and other vehicles that have premade systems.

I got my pipe kit from Summit last summer. They sell a pre-bent kit that is made by Hooker. It is specific for 67-72 LONGBED trucks. I took about 18" off the center section and it fit my 67 shortbed no problem. You can get it to fit stock manifolds or full length headers and they include flanges. It only cost about $115.00. If you don't live in Ohio or Nevada you pay no sales tax and shipping is FREE. It went in with no problem. Best deal on exhaust I've found. Mufflers aren't included but I went with Flowmaster delta series.
