Tach Install Question

Hi Guys -my 67 truck tach wires got cut before I purchased the truck - I'm trying to get it hooked back up but have never done it before.

My Mallory HEI ignition has HEI and COIL stamped on it - not batt and tach - the Coil labeled wire to the right (pink in color) in the picture is running to my key ignition in the cab? Is that correct? Shouldn't the pink coil wire run to the tach itself - to the green tach wire?

Where does the white wire to the left on the ignition go - to a keyed power source or?

I thought the green tach wire goes from the distributor to the tach itself, the white and red wires go to the fuse box etc a keyed power sourse and lastly the black wire goes to a ground - whats the white wire to the left of the ignition going to?

It probably ties in with the dash lights for the light in the gauge, or at least one wire is for that.
