NOOB in Regina, Sk., Canada

I perused this site and found a lot of good information. I decided to join up as I am looking at a 1968 C 10 for a project truck. I like fast and low but my last car was a bit rough on air bags so may look for an alternative suspension on this one. I will have to do some searching on here and google still but I have been a mechanic/bodyman for 18 yrs combined now so pulling wrenching and shooting paint is not new to me. I will have lots to learn for the swaps I want to do. The plan is

1968 Truck
  • front disc brake and five bolt
  • front and rear drop, love pro street styled stances
  • lsx swap
  • widen rear tubs
  • clasic style interior to stay
  • paint, I am thinking faded old retro service truck style

This is my long and short term list. Thanks for reading!!!!!!!!!

Hi Andrew,

Welcome - I've been a member on here for a few months now - it's a great group. You will learn a lot of great things by looking through the build threads, and if you ask a question (even the total n00b ones that I ask) you'll get a response from someone knowledgeable pretty quickly. It has helped me a lot as I slowly get started with my own 68 C10, which was in advanced state when I got it, but it's getting more fun every day

Re: NOOB in Regina, Sk., Canada

THANKS!!!!!!!! The one I am looking at is in poor shape but complete and not cut up. It is easier to work on a rough original then a hacked up decent looking one. I have learned that the hard way. I have read a few builds already and have found some answers which has edged me towards picking up the truck I found. I am sure this place is going to be a terrific resource for me. I of course will document my build but i need to get the truck and pick it apart to make sure I have decent basics before I start to accumulate parts. I plan on putting a couple grand aside from my income tax refund this year for some body parts, five bolt conversion and rims.
