NP246 T case spring updates
I'm working on the transfer case out of my recently acquired 99 Silverado 1500. The truck has 220k miles on it and the clutch pack in the T case is smoked. I have found all the parts I need to rebuild it, but keep running across an updated return spring for the clutch pack. From what I gather, it allows the front drive shaft not to spin in 2wd like the early npo246 does. I also read somewhere the preload spring is not needed. Any insight or help will be appreciated.

Re: NP246 T case spring updates
I talked to both of the local mechanics and they said to leave the springs how they are.
Clutches got so hot it melted the cage out if the clutch apply bearing and the pads off of the hi/low fork. Posted via Mobile Device |
