Trim/paint options for 1977 stepside?

Hey guys, I'm new here on the forum, though I've followed many amazing builds and read lots of useful information on the forums here.

I've got a couple trucks on the go, with various applications and budgets in mind. I will be starting a build thread as soon as I can. I have a couple questions I haven't seen answered anywhere else, and figured this was a great place to get input.

Anyways, I am curious if anyone has seen, or has pictures of any two-tone shortbox stepside trucks from '73 onwards. I'd also like to know if any of the stepside trucks from this era came with the body trim - I have only ever seen trim on fleetsides, and I've never found or seen any two-tone stepside trucks. I have a distinct feeling this wasn't an option on these trucks from the apparent lack of photos of them.

The reason I'm asking is because I'd like to see if any exist out there in that format; I'm going to rebuild my 1977 GMC Heavy Half 2WD longbox into a neat little shortbox, while still retaining the 'classic' look. I really like the current two-tone brown and beige colour scheme, and wondered if I could somehow work it into a stepside format.

I'd love to see anything you might have that fits the description. Thanks for reading, and cheers!

Cody.

Re: Trim/paint options for 1977 stepside?

I think I saw a thread on this topic recently (so you might try searching on "two tone stepside" or the like) but -

In general stepsides did not get two tone paint; there were some stripe options and sport truck options that I'm sure the guys will post.

Additionally, you are correct - no side trim (either the stainless trim from '73 -'80 nor the adhesive trim from '81 on).

Lastly - here is the info packet for a '77 Chevy pickup, as housed in the GM Heritage Center archives. You will find a lot of information on trim and paint in this.
