power window backward operation???

I'm putting my 87' chevy back together after a restoration and am having a hard time getting the windows to work correctly. All the wiring is from an 89' Suburban. I replaced both window motors. Both windows work from the driver side double panel switch, however, the passenger side goes down when you push the switch up and it goes up when you push the switch down. Also, I have tried a couple of different switches on the passenger side and can't get it to operate at all from the passenger side.

I'm terrible with electrical work, however, these plugs and switches are all plug and play so I'm not sure where I could have messed up. Anyone have any ideas?

Re: power window backward operation???

Do the switches have any orientation feature in the way they stick in the door trim panel?

I'd pull the switch assembly and flip it around so that it works correctly and then re-clip it into the door trim.

(Unless there is some detail here that I am not seeing)

...unless....you are saying there are two switches ganged together in the driver's door. Of those, the one for the driver's door work correctly, and the one for the passenger door work backwards?

Additionally, the switch on the passenger door doesn't work at all?

Correct. The switches are ganged together. I think all the switches and plugs can only go in one way so this should be easy. My wire harness came from a Suburban so I have some unused wires that would go to the rear doors. I wonder if that could be causing issues?
