I think I might shim the trans mount up about 1/4" and re-measure.

Just something to consider, when you accelerate the pinion will rotate down. .. so your 4* up is okayy .. but it will quickly go to 1-2* or so as you pull away from the stop lights.

If I am thinking correctly, if you shim the trans mount up just a hair wouldn't that put them close to equal but not zero'ed out ?

Just to add something else for you.. read through this kit writeup. It will make it all make more sense (it did for me) I know this is S10 stuff, but I promise I used this kit on my 96 S10 ext cab it has ZERO vibration in it anywhere. It is smoother now than it was from the factory. I'm sure the same concept applies to our C10s.

Extended cab 2wd s10s are notorious for eating the rear double cardain joint, especially if lowered. The pinion angle is off from the factory. We won't warranty an ex cab 2wd s10 shaft unless they shim the pinion down.
I rebuild at least 3 a week.
