Steering box (PS conversion question)
I know I know, yet another power steering question.
I had purchased a while back for a different project all the steering components from a 74 2wd c-10. This went from steering box to tie rod ends. Everything has already been powdercoated (have all new tie rods and sleeves) so I figured why not use this for my 67 PS conversion since is already done up. First step was to install the steering box. Now I have found that the 67 does not have the dimple that the newer trucks have so went to bolt on the pump with some washers to see exactly where i need to make the dimple. This is all fine and good except that i cant get the pump on as the part towards the front of the truck hits the core support mount. I know I may have to notch the bumper bracket but have not seen anywhere about the core support mount. Am I going to need a different steering box? If so will it work with the other '74 components? Any help appreciated. |

Re: Steering box (PS conversion question)
I had to cut a small part of the core support and bumper bracket when I did the same conversion. Didn't effect anything structural.
