Re: wrecked longhorn at copart at baltimore md.

Wow that's only the second Longhorn I've seen with a shell on it. I know there are a lot more but the second one I've seen.

I wonder if the insurance company wrote it as a total loss.

What a shame.

That was a nice truck. Hope someone saves it from a "junk yard death".

"Billy, grandpa wanted you to have his most cherrished Chevy truck." BAM! State Farm says it's only worth $1500 and the body shop wants $2000 to fix it so I guess it's totalled ...and grandpa is rolling over in his grave...

That would be cool if you got it Dale, looks like it was a really clean truck. I was hoping Copart was some junk yeard I had never heard of before, I was ready to call out of work tomorrow and head on up there.

Re: wrecked longhorn at copart at baltimore md.

You will be really suprised at what that stuff brings at the wrecked sales. American Pickup can back mLittle Rock AR sale of IAA they had a 71 k25 and it had a big block put in it and was wrecked in the front and on the right rear. It was nice but needed a total redo. It brought $7800 Also last year they had a 70 short that brought 4 something and nosaled just to be sold on the I buy fast system to someone that had not seen all it had to offer if you know what I mean. The pics made it look awesome but when you saw it in person , not so much. Good luck to you on this one it looks real nice and would fix real easy if you chose to. Jim

yes you called this one. i have been watching some of the flood cars in the northeast at iaa and copart where the big flood was, a 70 chevelle restored flood car brought $26000.00 a 70 swb big block brought $15600.00 and a 70 350 nova brought. $11600.00 all were HARD FLOOD cars with mud in them, it makes you wonder what they are doing with them.

Apparently there are still tons of people on the east coast with deep pockets. Here in the midwest the old car and truck market has went down a good 25-50% on the high end stuff.

Is there a demand for a 8 1/2' Longhorn bed? Are they rare? Really would need to re-coop some funds on this purchase.

I've paid $850 for a nice Longhorn bed with no wood in it. If the wood is really nice, you can get more I bet. The topper will probably bring $200 to some one looking for one. The tail gate could be $200-$350 or more depending how rust and dent free it is. Especially if it isn't bowed.

Re: wrecked longhorn at copart at baltimore md.

The Chevrolet letters on the tailgate not being painted white makes me think this has an obvious repaint, might want to check it out in person before going bid crazy only to find out it's full of Bondo. Just my $0.02.
