how do you turn on the interior light??? 66 C10

I was wondering how exactly do you turn the interior light on in a 1966 Chevy C10? which way do i spin the knob for the lights?

Good question. I haven't tried the light yet in my 65. However, if it's like my other classic GM cars, you grab the headlight knob and turn it counter clockwise. Keep us posted (although one of the vets will have the answer). Is it supposed to come on when one opens the doors?

My 64 does not have door switches for the dome light. I am not sure if that was an option or not.

how much do you have to twist it for it to turn on??

as far to the left as it will go, on mine you can feel it engage. turn it back to the right to shut it off and increase brightness on dash lights

If it doesn't work at all, it could be the contact point is worn/broken on the headlight switch, the ground wire coming from the dome light isn't connected to the tab on the headlight switch frame, the bulb is burned out, or a fuse is blown. The dome light is supplied with constant power. Unlike any other automotive circuit I can think of, operation of the light is controlled by the ground side of the circuit at the headlight switch.

Adding door switches is a simple matter of drilling/mounting the switches and tapping into the ground circuit.
