rubber fuel lines
what size hose is it ??? and how much gas is usually left in the tank when your gauge reads empty ???
the hose i have on there right now definately looks 30 years old and i dont trust it any tips or suggestion from people who have done this before would be sweet thanks

The fuel line will be 5/16" or 3/8" depending on the engine size original to your truck. Measure steel tube. If you disconnect your line at the top of the tank first you will lose very little fuel changing the hoses.

only way to tell at what point your tank is empty, it to run out of gas.
I do this on all old vehicles within a week of buying them...just toss a 5 gallon can in the bed when you see that you're getting low. And don't forget to fill that can up. If your truck came with an inline or a 2 bbl small block, then you should have 5/16 fuel line. If you had a 4 bbl small block, or a big block, then you should have a 3/8 inch fuel line. |

john ... what do you mean " by disconnect the line at the top of the tank" .... the one right by the gas cap?? ... or the vent on the passenger side ??
i would think it would pour out just the same ... am i wrong

If you disconnect the main fuel line that is screwed into the sending unit ,that will not let fuel syphon through the line. John
