How much do you think?
No photos. But, my friend down the street has a 1972 short bed Chevy. It has a sbc 350 and 3ott. Fleetside with wood bed. The truck is completely disassembled. He has the rolling frame in his garage with the bed sitting on it. The bed sides are in need of some body work. He has an A/C cab with an uncut dash sitting on the floor. Two good doors. A bench seat and a set of buckets (both need recovering). The engine block is on an engine stand and completely disassembled.
There is absolutley no rust anywhere. None! He got the truck on a trade about 5 years back and had planned on building it out for his wife but never did. He has too many other projects. He said he would sell it to me but told me I had to make an offer. How much does everyone think it would be worth in its condition? |

Re: How much do you think?
Couple grand. Its essentially a pile of parts no matter how nice it is. You could need thousands in small missing stuff.

I agree with both above post no pic's pittiful, putting it together could lead to bankruptcy, just a small walk down that path. Be careful be VERY careful.

Re: How much do you think?
I think he wants about $500. I'm not sure I am ready for a full build just yet. I'm sure it will need all the small parts and pieces. They're probably there but I would want new.

Re: How much do you think?
is the cab titled? That could make the difference between a buildable truck or pile parts.
IF you were considering this to sell on eBay or something it would definately be a deal.

Re: How much do you think?
If it really is the truck you describe, exactly. I think if someone paid to have it shipped to them and it was under a grand to do they would be getting a pretty decent deal still.

Re: How much do you think?
It's just as described. Everything is there (in multiples). Just no new parts. No rust at all. He doesn't have title on cab. However, Georgia only requires a bill of sale on those years. So I can get it registered without a problem.
My only draw back is that I only have a two car garage. If I could paint the chassis and shoot the underside of cab in a flat black I could get the cab and bed on frame and start putting motor and trans in pretty quick like. Could probably get it down to one side of my garage and just put two of my cars on the street. |

Re: How much do you think?
$500 would be a steal if it has a title. If your 2 car garage is attached please go buy about a dozen cheap filters for your furnace (I am a Master HVAC Contractor). Sanding, priming, and painting dust will suck into your furnace and clog up in just one days time.
That being said: If you have the time and will to build the truck.....DO IT!! It will give the love of these toys that someone who simply buys one off the lot cant understand. |

Re: How much do you think?
I'd want to build 454 with 5-speed short and wide. Already has wood slat fleet side. It's my dream truck. Just don't know how long I would be dedicating my garage to the build.
