Newbie question about bench seat
Just picked-up a 66 step. The seats look like captains chairs from a conversion van and are in bad shape. I would like to find an original bench and have it upholstered, but not finding anything on CL or in the classifieds in the various forums. Any advice on finding a original bench or a good substitute out of a later model truck?

Re: Newbie question about bench seat
Welcome to the board. Take a look in the FAQ area. Days of good reading there on all topics. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=559678
Scroll down to post #2 then on down to seats. Several posts containing good info about OE and other than OE seats. Looks like you might be going on a road trip to AZ.

Re: Newbie question about bench seat
My '65 step side has a '91 Silverado seat . If I remember correctly , I used two of the original holes in the floor and had to drill the other two ? Dimension wise , the seat is a good fit .

Re: Newbie question about bench seat
I replaced it with a set of Tahoe buckets that have the integrated seat belts.
My brother lives in RENO. I could send the seat up with him and you could run over the pass and pick it up there if you are interested.

Re: Newbie question about bench seat
Thanks a bunch for the offer to help me out. I'll troll CL for a few weeks and hopefully score a bench locally.
