Rear suspension swap opinions wanted
Hello all. I have a 69 longbed that I bought a couple of weeks ago. It has a leaf setup on it now. I also am picking up the 67 that donated its bed to my truck. The 67 has truck arms. The 67 is just a stripped cab and frame. Is it worth swapping the trucks arms in place of the leafs? My 69 will be getting a big block in the next couple of years. I may do some hauling with the truck, pulling my Camaro around. Which suspension set up would you folks use if you had the choice? Thanks for your opinions. Chris

I love my arms.....but I also am running a full bagger system so all coils are gone and replaced with bags. I am pushing right at 380HP and no wheel hop...and suspension feels solid.

Thanks for the arms/bags votes. Don't think I want to run bags. I guess I'm looking for opinions on ride quality and cornering ability. I'm planning on around 500-550 hp out of the 496 I'm going to build for her. Its not going to be a drag truck or anything. Just something to thump around town in. Chris

If u are hauling around that Camaro quit a bit I wood stick with leaf springs.

I noticed that alot of people do bags and arms...i went with a 4"drop coil the arms and an adjustable trac arm and sway bar front and rear.... wheel hop i am not so sure yet i didnt get a relocator kit for shocks as of yet I will see how it feels but i prefer static style with the arms myself.

Thanks for the opinions guys. I think Ill probably swap to the arms. How difficult is this swap as far as crossmembers go? Do I have to swap them or should I just weld the arm brackets onto my current crossmember? I may put bags in the rear to help when hauling the cars around. Is there anything else I should think about? I don't have both frames side by side yet, so I can't really compare them. Thanks again guys. Chris
