Some days I love CL...

My 87 is parked due to a worn out 10 bolt axle, leaking pinion and axle seal leak that ruined the brakes on one side. Scannin CL, found an ad for an 87 axle, 3.08 gears, rebuilt. Go look, it's actually a 12 bolt, was under the guy's 68, started squeaking, had it rebuild with all new bearings, seal, brakes, and chrome cover, assembled professionally. Few miles later it was replaced with a differnet set up. $200 on my truck. All I need now are some caps and a conversion joint. And of course the ambition, since while I'm there I really ought to rebuild the spring pack and maybe dor the Keith Seymour lowering trick and....

Funny thing is the truck's parked until diesel gets more reasonable. But I can at least get it ready to go.
