1978 engine swap, help

I have a 1978 Sierra with a 400 small block that is Preety much toast ( loud knock turned to violent banging noise). Anyways I got a newer 350 tpi engine for free, it was in a 68 camaro and was pulled about a year ago... My question is how/what needs to be done to the 350 so I can drop it in my truck that is carburated. What parts will I need, and are the 400 and 350 small block parts compatible?

The 350 is in really nice shape like new, it came out of a restored camaro that my employer owned. He put 454 in when he bought it. Like new 350 I would really like to put in my old beast.

Do you want it carb or injected? It should fit right in with minimal work.

As much as I'd like a tpi engine I think it would be easier to dumb down the engine than put a computer in the truck. I am open to either option, want to keep the work to little as possible. Thanks for your response

I would keep all the front pulleys from the 400 and swap the manifold/carb/distributer from the 350.

You can do it in a day with a friend if you are quick (me and my brother have done it). Take two days and go slow you will be fine

Are the manifold and distributor compatible from the 400?

I was talkin to the mechanic where I picked up the engine he said I am going to need to change the exhaust manifolds to fit, the dip stick is on the opposite side on the 350

I am fully confident to do the swap just want to cover all my angles before I start

tha center 4 bolts on tha tpi are @ a diff. angle than tha one one your 400..you could enlongate tha holes & use angled washers or eddelbrock make a carbed intake jus to fit those heads

I've read about the centre bolts
On some other threads, is it the same difference if those holes are drilled out properly compared to a proper fiting new manifold? Also will the distributor work from the 400?
