Truck shipped

Well finely getting down to the last few bucks to get my truck shipped or so I thought. The company I was going to go with I found to have some bad reviews on hidden fees and delivery times. They quoted me 550 from brush Colorado to new providence iowa. Not bad but I don't want to be screwed. Wish I could find someone driving this route to just pay to haul it here I guess maybe ill have to hold off for a while

I had a friend use a shipping group that brought a Japanese truck from the East Coast to Kansas and he paid around $500.00

Have you tried Uship.com? You can put all your information in and get bids from companys and private hire with reviews and lots of hauling options.

Just to be clear I am not Pat nor am I getting anything out of this at all. I don't wanna get kicked off of here.

I used this guy. The transaction went super smooth. He was hundreds cheaper than using a transport company either off eBay or even just doing a quick google search. Give him a call it won't hurt.

$500 is very reasonable IMHO. I paid double that for my recent purchase but it was an enclosed trailer. I shipped a car from San Diego to Denver a few years back for $550.

I have used them 3 times in the last couple of years. 2 trucks from Vegas and a monte carlo from Dallas. They will ship non-running vehicles as well so if you find that perfect truck minus engine and trans it can still be shipped,, usually about $100 extra .

I will use these guys again. Prices keep going up but can you afford to take time off work, buy fuel,etc ?

My K20 shipped 2 years ago, Vegas to my door $850.

The last truck was shipped last fall from Vegas to Iowa City for $1050,, that's about 60 miles from my house but they wanted another $300 to deliver to my door. So ,I hooked the car trailer to the K20 and hauled the C20 home. Still cheaper than taking a week off work, fuel in the truck, road food, motel,etc.

Why don't you just go get it? I Googled the route and it's 650 miles almost all Interstate. That's a one-day drive each way. You could do that on a weekend.

My only advice, based on being burned myself, is that the operative question is whether or not the person you are paying is an actual shipper or just a broker that arranges shipping?

If the former, go for it. If the latter, well, I will NEVER EVER again use a broker. Some folks have had good luck. And it was just that - luck. The one I used, "Angels Moving Autos" was the most unprofessional, flat-out lying bunch of idiots I've ever dealt with in my life, bar none. Can I be more clear? I had shipping arranged when I was moving once - and they used every day of their agreed to pick up window - and then called me at the absolute last second (would not answer my calls after they had my money) and said sorry, we can't get a driver for the price they quoted me up front, i.e. the prioce they suckered me in with because it was low-ball. They tried to stiff-arm me into giving them another $700 (on top of an agreed to $1100) at the last second becuase they knew I was between a rock and a hard place. THAT was the day I discovered they don't own their own trucks and were just brokers. Nothing wrong with a broker per se, but the actual work is done by the shipper - not the lying cheating lazy go-between that these guys were. Never again. (I went to u-haul and rented a car-hauler myself) I think you struck a nerve...

Moral of the story: pay a direct shipper, the dude (or at least the company of the dude) that drives the truck. It will cost a LITTLE more, but you will have peace of mind.
