Good riding, inexpensive shocks???

I have had good results with Monroe Sensa Trac shocks. Good ride and pretty durable. Rock Auto has the fronts for 15.04. This says without HD suspension. You may need more shock than these for your 6500# axles.

I've heard nothing but good about Sensatracs but haven't owned any.

After 20 years, I would just get new shocks.

Consider KYB Gas-A-Justs. These are non-adjustable high-pressure gas shocks that are somewhat firmer than OEM, especially when new. I've put them on two vehicles and they have lasted me a long time.
