Nice looking. I think the Suburban was GMC's version of the Chevy Cameo.

I thought only the deluxe cab was used on the Cameo and Suburban? Doesn't that have a small rear window?

Re: 56 GMC Suburban pickup anyone?

May not be factory with the small window, or the original owner may have ordered it with the small window cab, but deluxe tirm package.

Re: 56 GMC Suburban pickup anyone?

I dont mean to nit-pick, but the terminology is a little off i think. IIRC these GMC's were called "Suburban Carriers" not "Suburbans" could be wrong, but I think they threw the word Carrier at the end to make sure it didn't carry the same name as the Suburban.

And as already mentioned, I doubt it came factory with a small window. I dont think there was a VIN designation on Cameos until 1957 (3124 designation as opposed to the 3100 standard shortbed), so anyone with a 55 or 56 chevy can fake it without evidence against it, as GMC's were similar I would expect the same...

Never the less, the Suburban Carriers are pretty sweet, as are the Cameos

I totally agree and I'm not trying to criticize anyone's truck but the ONLY thing that bugs me about the Cameo's/Suburban Carriers is the tailgate latches. They are the only thing that stands out as not thought-through. They look crude compared to the cool-ass smooth design of the rest of the truck.

I'll probably never get to own one but if I ever did that would be the one thing I would customize about it. YMMV.
