Re: AD speaker locations
Tank in truck or not? Even if it is there is room in the back corners of the cab for speakers if you build the boxes with the right shape or buy speakers in boxes that fit in those spots.
I built some two inch deep boxes for six inch speakers that are mounted on the bottom of the kick panels on each side but they end up being foot rests when you have passengers. They sound good though. I don't have a gas tank in the cab and built a speaker box that goes behind the seat that is about 30 inches wide and twelve inches tall. No sub woofer but it has two eight inch speakers back there. Don't forget behind the original speaker grill too. And you could mount tweeters up in the front corners of the headliner pretty easily.

Re: AD speaker locations
I built kick panel pods to hold 6.5" speakers. I also built boxes for the back (no gas tank) and I will add one more 6.5" to each box with a 10" sub. I will glass the back boxes and then cover them with material. The same thing with the kick panel pods
I will hide my (2) amps under the seats. My double din deck will be in the center console. This is a work in progress as soon as we get some warm weather I will start working on it again. Marc

Re: AD speaker locations
Get an extra set of door inspection/adjustment panels, cut out the hole, mount the speakers and use the doors.

Re: AD speaker locations
A friend of mine showed me this bose speaker.
http://www.bose.com/controller?url=/...aker/index.jsp I looked at the dimensions, and I can fit it right in the original speaker grille. The system works so well, I don't think I'll need to mount any extra speakers. I started playing with a broken one off ebay, I found out I can mount the 5 buttons for the speaker in the panel under the dash (where the original switch and cigarette lighter is. I'm going to mount the aux cable under the speaker, so I can have a temporary radio whenever I like. Since I carry most of my tunes on my ipod, and this will sync to the ipod wirelessly, I can listen to music once I turn the key. Just another option |

Re: AD speaker locations
I built 2 small boxes behind the seat, no tank. I aimed the speakers straight up instead of forward, it was much louder and not nearly as muffled. I used 6.5's and it sounds pretty decent. I also made a box that holds 2 6.5's and hung it under the dash in the center. The speakers hang below the lower edge of the dash. They are loud as they aim directly at you and are not too noticeable unless you look under the dash. Sorry but I have no pics.
