Suburban side window gaskets
OK, I know that we've mentioned this several times but I cannot find the thread.
Where is a place that sells the side window gasket sets? I've seen the website but cannot remember which one it was. HELP!

I just looked at their catalog and it appears they sell two types: A "replacement type" for $25 ea, and "original design" for $169 pr.
which did you get and have you inspected them or tried installing them yet? |

Re: Suburban side window gaskets
Thanks guys! Rocktonka, does that kit have everything to completely rebuild the sliders? How did the quality look to you?

Re: Suburban side window gaskets
Sad to say if you want to do it right it's going to cost you. I steer away from packaged kits because they tend to not fit right. I got my rubber gaskets from steele rubber and they weren't cheap but they are quality, but that's all you get. The glass run channel and the beltline have to be purchased seperatly. C.R.Laurence makes these products and they are also quality. The glass run is 10G96 and the beltline is YM372, the only change you have to make is on the vertical piece of beltline that slips into the small channel. The stainless bead has to be removed for it to fit properly. It's easily removed with a pair of needle nose pliers. The C.R. Laurence products can be purchased at your local glass contractors or supply outlet. You can also buy and view the pieces at Restoration Specialties online.

Re: Suburban side window gaskets
I got mine from Steele back in the 90's, but I think Bob's Truck Parts in Mesa, AZ has them as well. Not sure about Bob's quality, but I'm going to get my liftgate/tailgate w/strip from him eventually to see how they are.

Re: Suburban side window gaskets
Care to comment on the quality? Does the kit include all of the parts to completely rebuild the sliding windows?

Re: Suburban side window gaskets
Oops, forgot I had posted that here. We haven't pulled them out of the bags yet to check them out. We believe that we ordered everything that we needed to replace ALL the seals/gaskets in the burb. Probably going to be a bit before we get around to that...I don't remember paying too much for what we got So we probably have the ill-fitting flavor.
