tail lights
When you have the head lights on in my truck and hit the brake pedal while the blinker is on the right side light quits working and the left one gets really bright. I am wondering if anybody has run into this problem before and knows how to fix it because it has to be done by thursday so i can get it inspected. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you get to track down a short. In the mean time, you might try swapping out the bulbs for fresh ones just in case. Sometimes a burned element can do weird things (and it's cheap).

Bad ground. The taillights ground where they are bolted on and water and crud gets up in there and makes it rusty. I just fixed this problem on my truck.

ill try sanding them down tomorrow and see what happens. otherwise ill have to get the volt tester out tomorrow and try and find a short.

Electricity always takes the path of least resistance. You do have a ground problem. What you need isn't necessarily sandpaper, but a wire brush made specifically to clean the sockets that the bulbs to in (make sure the lights are off).
I have seen parking lights that were grounded thru the head lights. So, where ever the path of least resistance is, that is which way the current will go. Strange stuff, electricity.
