My Project '84
Here are some pictures of my project truck. It's an '84 currently on lay away at a friends house. Plan to make it a daily driver but I don't need to drive everyday.

Dang, it looks pretty nice. You should slam it and put some original wheels back on it.

The wheels do make it look like a modern truck. Would you believe I haven't even looked under the hood yet. But made my first payment = $200.00. Those small side mirrors seem very unusual.

Re: My Project '84
Talked with the po today. The mirrors are stock. He said the motor is a 5 liter so my guess is that it is the 305 3.736 x 3.48. Got the vin number but there is a problem with the check digit so I will try to get the actual number off the truck. But it is a 4x2 from the Pontiac Michigan plant "P" 11th digit.

Re: My Project '84
I like the larger mirrors as well which are certainly more common. I think the larger mirrors work better for visibility and look better on the truck but also take more power (fuel) to push through the air. Hope to start around Christmas with the truck paid off by then. But this will be a long slow moving project unless extra money appears by miracle. Will need to determine priorities. Mechanical issues will come first. Tires and brakes I know need attention, probably a new battery, fresh fluids and then find out what else to make it a daily driver.

Just wanted to add a link to a Flint truck assembly factory tour.

Congrads on your new truck looks like a good project. Christmas come on I could not wait I would be finding $ somewhere. Cutting grass, delivery of pizza or panhandling to get it. Good luck! Keep us posted.
