Static Drop Questions Need Advice

So i have done some digging and been on here a while and I think that I have finally swayed from my 4x4 conversion of my 69GMC, due to time, and because I do not have the heart anymore to dissect an original #s matching rust free truck. That being said I want to take this truck -

and make it have the stance of this truck (photo credit unknown). Im pretty sure its from this forum, but I just did a google search.

I like the wheel wells to be just filled with wheel and tire, preferably a large wheel and lower profile tire, but not into the bagged look, although I do respect the time people spend doing these mods.

Im thinking I will need to do a 4/6 or 3/5 drop at the minimum, but I do not know what I am looking at to be honest. My truck is stock, so front drum rear leafs. I can do a leaf spring flip, or get a kit with different leafs and shackles, and they offer A-arms, or coils? I assume the difference is final geometry? Anyway post some pics of your trucks, and tell me what you think is my best option, because I only want to do this once. I know I may need a c-notch, but want to avoid it if possible. Some members say they have a 6" dropped rear with no problems, others are hitting, so I guess I will drop it then figure out what needs to be done. It's ultimately going to be a summer cruiser and that is it, maybe a trip to the icecream shop, but no hauling of any sort with the exception of my large behind, thats why I have my 98. I digress, any info is appreciated and cost is not so important as quality and streetability.

thanks again,
Jr

For reference, this is a 5.5/7 an if I didn't have a notch I would be damn near sitting on the axle. With the notch I've got a couple of inches of travel and she rides nice.

I was reading this earlier, and it was helpful, and you do some nice work might I add. I guess my main concern is how strong the c-notch will be, and I know I do not have the welding ability to do it at this point so it would have to be outsourced, and I dont want to trust my truck to just anybody. I am also trying to figure out what would be better performance wise, I know an axle flip for me would be easy, but don't know if I want the leaf packs below the axle.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to reinvent the wheel, its just hard to find a shop up here that will do this work with care. Im just trying to figure out who makes the best kits for dropping and notching.
