Re: So mad !! new tranny did not bolt up !!!

ok so I took off the original flywheel and its a 14 inch 168 tooth flywheel. the flywheel did not bolt up to the th350 torque convertor , so I guess I need a new one. also I took a pic of the bolt holes on the block , is this a staggered or straight bolt pattern ?

this may help clarify what holes to use ,cant tell withe all the grime what you have for holes but looks like you have at least a staggered setup ,look at the link if your block has both holes threaded besides the blue circled hole you should be able to use either style starter and corresponding plate:

Re: So mad !! new tranny did not bolt up !!!

Since we are talking about trannies, does anyone know if a 1991 s10 5 speed manual transmission will bolt up to a 1962 235 i6 motor? Thanks for any help.

Re: So mad !! new tranny did not bolt up !!!

The bellhousing bolt pattern and size is different than the '63 and up I6's and all small blocks and big blocks. So you will need to keep your original bellhousing.
