What do I have wrong?

As you can see from the picture that my radiator hose is running on top (touching) my a/c hoses. I know this isn't right but not sure if its the wrong hose, wrong thermostat housing (I have to get a new one b/c that one busted) or I have something ran wrong. Any help and/or pictures would help.

Re: What do I have wrong?

This is how my 85 with 350 was run before I tore down for the build. My radiator hose went under the AC hoses.

Re: What do I have wrong?

Looks like your AC lines are run opposite of mine.

that looks like a retrofit compressor and lines, could be the source of the interference problem. you may be able to get around it by bending the a/c lines (risky) and running the radiator hose under them-like in rs74's pic. or i believe there is a spacer available that raises the height of the thermostat housing- that would get the hose off the lines, i would check summit for that spacer.

Re: What do I have wrong?

It looks to me like someone bent the lines forward and ran the radiator hose over them. Trying to re-bend them at this point is not only risky in terms of ruining the lines, it's downright dangerous.
Most things like that will bend once, bending it back will crack it.

Re: What do I have wrong?

Thanks guys. After some more research I have came to the conclusion that the A/C lines have been bent and I will be ordering new ones. After talking to my dad he reminded me that there wasn't a compressor on the truck when I got it and that the hoses were just laying on the inter fender. That's why I didn't remember if the radiator hose were touching the lines before. I only had the truck like a week before we pulled the motor. Thanks again.

Re: What do I have wrong?

Use an 88 and up water neck. Later model necks are angled higher to clear a serpentine belt. I use a 94 water neck on my truck. I had to build a support to hold the hose up. I didn't like it bouncing up and down.
