True '71 Cheyenne?

Is this a real Cheyenne or just has the fender plates changed?

Door panels are '69 door panels.
They are different in '70 and '71.
They have a thin woodgrain strip along the top of them.

Re: True '71 Cheyenne?

Not without the spid. I would think it should have AC for one. There is no shot of the inside roof to see if there is a headliner. No tilt. Lower side trim is black but tail gate band is wood grain. I don't know enough about 71 Cheyenne packages to make a call.

It is 42 yrs old and a lot of things can happen. The spid would be very nice to see.

It may be a cheyenne. It does have the cargo light.
A/c and tilt are their own seperate options available on any truck if ordered.
I would guess the door panels are repro. Wrong and too nice of condition.

Re: True '71 Cheyenne?

Have him send you a shot of the SPID. I don't have tilt in the '71 Cheyenne, it's got a/c and a cargo light, though, so a Cheyenne may or may not have that stuff. They just usually do.

Re: True '71 Cheyenne?

Cargo light is an indicator it is a Cheyenne. As toomuchstuff stated, a/c and tilt are separate options and have nothing to do with it. Could have very well been low optioned...it doesn't have power brakes either. Without the SPID it is pointless to guess. Either way it's a very nice truck.

Re: True '71 Cheyenne?

Look for seal between the front fender and door in the hinge area. No seal, No Cheyenne. I formerly owned a Custom Deluxe with a cargo light (shown on the SPID).

Good Luck!

Here is a link to a parts post that shows the seals on the cab on post #114 and the seals removed on post #137. All Cheyenne and Cheyenne Supers had these seals. Good Luck!!
