The Possum build
Well let's see..... searched for about 6 months and finally found a good rust free body and ran like a top. 1972 CST original ochre now red. It ran when I bought it but the steering was SCARY!!!!! So I decided to trailer it back home to Memphis.
Got it home and it would not start, timing had jumped out. Started the strip down. Seems like the previous owner had an aversion to screws, he would take 8 out and put 3 back in, bonus, makes it a lot easier to take it apart. As far as rust...... found a spot about the size of a baseball at the bottom of each kick panel. I can hear the angels singing NONE anywhere else. Re: The Possum build
Performance Suspension kit didn't work out, their ball joints were standard grade and the parts were mixed manufacturers McQuay-Norris and MOOG. so now on the search for quality front end parts. Prefer MADE IN AMERICA.
Rock auto has MOOG, raybestos, and other random manufacturers. I have also heard good things about the NAPA parts. They have two levels of parts Master ride Chassis series which are the low end and then the NAPA Chassis which look like grade 8 and blue poly bushing and have a lifetime parts warranty (with a lot of exceptions). they say made in America. "The NAPA Chassis warranty does not cover any loss due to misuse, alteration, accident, abuse, neglect, normal wear, improper application or installation of the products. This warranty only applies to NAPA Chassis products installed on passenger cars, vans, and light trucks. It does not apply to products installed on vehicles or equipment used for the following: towing, racing, public service, security, government, off-highway recreational, offhighway competition, fleet or commercial purposes, or if used in any aircraft or aviation application. The warranty does not cover any loss or liability for incidental or consequential damages that may be caused by a breach of this written warranty." |

Re: The Possum build
Further research the NAPA top grade parts are made by raybestos and are the same as Raybestos pro grade products.

Re: The Possum build
I'm looking for bolt and screw kits specifically for a blazer. Does anyone make them and who carries them? I looked at the kits at The Fillling Station and talked to one of their techs and he didn't think their were any Blazer kits.
I suppose you could use use a fleetside kit to cover most of the outside but still need all the top parts.
