Re: Best source for bumpers?

I buy mine from Classic Parts of America.
They are Tri-Plus bumpers.
Good quality for the price.

I just got my rear bumper from year one. It's ok and what your would expect for a 150 bumper.i did have to pay shipping but had a 20%off coupon so it was a wash

I have bought bumpers for my '55st, '56 & a '68 for $100.00 per from The Truck Shop at Charlotte Auto Fair - they sell at the major swap meets.

Check out GMCPauls, he is a vendor here on the site. I read reviews on his sport bumpers before i ordered mine. Good quality and doesnt have the frown look some of the cheaper versions can have. Mine worked out well - painted rear sport bumper for stepside

Re: Best source for bumpers?

I ordered my "Premium" front bumper from LMC. The premium just means not only chromed, but been polished as well. I like the packaging they use and speed they ship out......ofcourse I am a little partial to them when they have what I need since they are only 3 hours away.

Re: Best source for bumpers?

Honestly, if you have some good junk yards close by, they are your best resource. I found an original bumper for like $45, and then shined it up and restored it. The metal on the originals is thick, and the chrome is good.

Here it is

And, for the back bumper, I restored the one it came with for next to nothing with a little paint and tlc

Re: Best source for bumpers?

You might make a call to Tri City Plating in TN. Show chrome and lifetime guarantee to original owner. They go/deliver to many of the big shows i.e. Charlotte, Carlisle, etc.

Re: Best source for bumpers?

I got my rear bumper from Early Classic Enterprises. Got it there because they sold the entire kit with brackets and hardware and I didn't have to try to piece it all together. I'm happy with the quality.

My new front bumper was included with the sale of the truck. According to the packaging, it was sold in 1999 by JC Whitney.....LOL. Previous owner still had it in the package unopened when I picked up the truck 2 months ago.
