Recommendations on stock trailing arms ?

Was wanting to know what most people do to there stock trailing arms if they remove them. I just removed mine and I am about to have them power coated. They look great but I have heard of where the u bolt goes through that sometimes they can spit! Just want to see if y'all recommend welding the gap or just leave them alone. Thanks for the advice

Do some small 1.5"L beads every 6" or so along top & bottom of the seams. I also welded the very front & rear 100%. It still allows the arm to act as a 'beam' like originally designed while keeping things stronger & not allowing the arm to split.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Thanks Scoti that's exactly what I was needing to know. I just didn't want to do it if it was a bad idea, but I would hate to have them powder coated then have them split after the fact. Thanks again

You're going to want to watch the stock trailing arms though, both of mine broke at once when I got some wheel hop. I went with Porterbuilts! I'm sure in Texas you wouldn't have to worry about rust as much as I do though, but something to keep in mind!

I stitch weld mine like SCOTI. ECE also sells a reinforcement kit to beef them up.
