Different Arm Rests?

Does anyone know for sure if the 55-65 arm rests will fit the 67-72 trucks?

Thanks.

Re: Different Arm Rests?

I would imagine you could make it work (with some new screw holes and fasteners) on 67-71 door panels, but it doesn't look like it would fit well on the molded plastic '72 door panels.

Re: Different Arm Rests?

This is interesting. I'd like to see the comparison between all other two bolt armrests.

Re: Different Arm Rests?

Yes the 55-66 arm rests mounting holes are positioned the same as the 67-71 arm rest holes so you can install them on a 67-71 door panel. No new holes are needed.

Re: Different Arm Rests?

Comparing both, it looks as though the earlier model would drop your elbow down a bit.
Might be more comfortable.

Re: Different Arm Rests?

Thank you guys for the replies....looks like I'll be getting a pair of these then, I prefer the streamline look of this earlier style.

Just remember that the door panel underneath where your original arm rest mounted, may be scratched up and rubbed off, and where these older arm rests aren't as large, you may have some spots showing that you'll need to touch up if possible

Yeah, you can see the outline of where the other arm rest used to be. I suppose they could try cleaning the door panel, in hopes that it'll match

Bare metal door panels here, so i'll be Ok...but it's a valid point for others to be aware of.
