Pics Request For Cowl Hoods

Getting ready to buy a induction scoop to put on my hood. Not sure what height I want it to be.

If anyone has a cowl induction hood between 2 inches tall and 6 inches tall or taller, please post your pictures and please state how tall it is.

Thanks all.

PS: The truck I am building is going to be Pro-Street/Drag Race. The body is going to be built to have a very aggressive pro-street look to it. The chassis, suspension, and powertrain/engine is going to be built for racing.

This is going to be a custom one off build. When I start ordering parts and actually building the truck, I will comment on this thread to let you all know when I will start a build thread.

Anyways, pictures of your cowl hoods would be great. Thanks again and good day to all.

Member hillijob did a cowl hood from a standard hood a while back, if you want some ideas. It turned out nice!

Re: Pics Request For Cowl Hoods

With the shape of the dash these trucks will support a 4" cowl with out sacrificing the view.

That's a sweet truck. If you don't mind me asking, What are the specs on that chop?

And thanks all for the pictures. All of your trucks look great. Seems like a lot of people go with a 2 inch more than any other sizes available. I've decided that a 2" isn't the look I'm going for. So I will be getting one a bit taller OR I may just make my own.

Re: Pics Request For Cowl Hoods

We did a 4" chop and 4" channel. I can get more detailed pictures if you're interested. Some of the other details are a fuel injected 283, T5 5 speed, trussed ford 9 inch. The step side bed should be going on in a couple of weeks.

I'm defiantly interested in more detailed pictures. I plan on doing a chop in the near future as well and trying to figure out how much I want to cut out.

Also for everyone else, if you have pictures of any cowl hoods on these years of trucks with taller than a 2 inch cowl, please post some pictures.

Thanks and good day to all.

Re: Pics Request For Cowl Hoods

i looked at everything you could buy, i didn't like any of them. so, i made this one. i put the factory ridge down the middle and onto the front of then hood like factory. i added 70 chevelle cowl induction emblems to the side. what i tried to do is make it so that it would looks like chevrolet did it.

Re: Pics Request For Cowl Hoods

xman - Can you some how confirm that is a 6 inch cowl? It looks more like a 2-2 1/2 inch. Good looking truck though.

50mercfan - That's a great looking cowl you got. Do you have any pics of how you made it?
