More C20 fun
Saturday I had the day off, so I went to pick n pull and snagged some beautiful rams horn manifolds. I saw a 72 C20, which I of course parked next to and snapped some pics. Later that day, my dad, brother and I went and picked up two 72 C20's, one of which we need to put and engine into and return to the owner and the other we get to keep as payment for the engine work on the first.
The story is, three guys went down to a local dealership on the same day in 1972 and each bought a brand new C20. The son of one of those guys is a family friend, and up until two days ago he still owned two of those trucks. I remember as a kid riding around with him and his family in the truck pictured below on the trailer. So, he wants us to put an engine into one of them (not pictured), and we get to keep the other one - which is pretty much complete as it came from the factory. First at pick n pull: ![]() ![]() And later hauling the old girl to it's new home: ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Re: More C20 fun
Here's the old girl at her new home. In the background is my dad's blue rust free C20, and in the foreground is my brothers green 69 C10 parked next to the 72 C20 we brought home.
The C20 we brought home has an all original 350 with either a Turbo 350 or 400 trans... we haven't checked yet. ![]() |
