Does anyone know if there is a bolt-on receiver-style trailer hitch available for Suburbans?

If so, what years, specifically? The '60-'62 trucks have a different frame than the '60-'66.

Well, from what I'm seeing, there isn't a kit you can buy and bolt-on, like there is for the pick-up guys.
That's what I was trying to figure out.

I took one off an 87 3/4 ton and bolted it on my 65 1ton and it will go onto my suburban when the time is ready and it is a class 5. believe that there is a picture of it earlier in this thread

the frame widths are the same. sometimes it makes one think a little how to put something on

The Reese universal fit unit is pretty much a bolt on, but you DO have to assemble it to fit your particular frame width and maybe drill a couple holes for bolts. I'm not saying one doesn't exist that's totally ready to go needing nothing but a wrench, I just stopped looking when I found the adjustable Reese one at Pep Boys.

Well, I've got a '61 Suburban, and there's less available for those than '63-'66 Suburbans.

I'm trying to put together a list of parts that aren't available anywhere else, and then I'll see about making them. I've got no overhead, no employees, so I don't have to sell a million parts... just a few.

I WAS happy to see the universal kit... I definitely need to get something under the back of my Suburban--I'm going to need the ability to tow this year.

this hitch should work for the 63-66 there is also an installation guide.this may be a higher rated trailer than most may use. class 5. it was in an 87 gmc that I bought and stuck on my 65 1ton(it is like new) and will put on my 64 when the time comes. my 64 originally had a homemade on it but was twisted a little

Not sure if the Burbs are the same in the rear frame area as the pickups but I used one off of a 91 blazer. Its a class 5. Got it off cl for 25$. Works great and will fit my Blazer tank when I do that.

can't really see putting a class 5 on a blazer. Mind you some one may have put it on there, if you followed the link it says for 19" min of frame behind the rear spring mount and for a 34" frame

I talked to Stan at E.C.E. and ended up ordering a '67-72 'burb hitch for my '64. I had him NOT drill the normal bolt holes in the side plates so that I could locate the hitch and drill my own holes. Because it mounts to the side of the frame rails instead of to the bottom, it was pretty easy to get it lined up where I wanted it and bolted in tight.

it is going on my 4 x 4. mine is a panel so that it has the extension. pickups don't have that much frame back there do they. your's is a 61 so the frame is what 42" wide versus the later 34" width. you may have to do some fabrication back there to put one in.

here is how I mounted mine in my 1 ton. the deck comes over it, but no problem
