Re: who has cherry bombs on their truck?
I'm pretty sure mine are glass packs or cherry bombs not sure if they are the same or not. They sound pretty good kind of a classic sound. I could prob send a link to how it sounds if you want

Re: who has cherry bombs on their truck?
Mine has glass packs on it along with headers and a 4sp so its pretty loud and when you down shift it has that pop,pop to it.
I was going to change them out when I first got the truck but after having it for a month I found I really like them and think they fit the truck and that old school sound. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: who has cherry bombs on their truck?
My pickup (350/350) had some probably 30-40 year old 24" glasspacks on it my great uncle had installed, that were pretty burned up sounding.
Just had some 18" Cherry Bombs welded in two weeks ago. True dual, OE manifolds, straight out the back. The outlets are, you know, 9 or 10 feet away from my head (LWB), and behind me, so they don't drown out the cab. But, they are very loud for the drivers and neighborhoods behind me. They may be bordering too loud, but I don't mash it too much. They are somewhat docile in low throttle/low load, I am guessing because of the length of exhaust and small diamter (2"). Quite raspy at higher RPM WOT. I like them. |

Re: who has cherry bombs on their truck?
I took them off of mine. They were too loud for me on the highway, but I have 3.73 gears and no overdrive. They sounded pretty good around town, but I do most of my driving on the highway so it just wasn't for me. If I had an extra gear they would have been ok, but I still probably would have changed them just because I'm not a huge fan of the tone.

Re: who has cherry bombs on their truck?
Mine are 3" and dump right in front of the rear tires. Not as loud as I thought they would be until I stand on it. The sound is old school cool, looks pretty slick too. Maybe not for everybody but I like them.

Re: who has cherry bombs on their truck?
I've got them on Mustard, my 72 C20, but they're coming off. I love the sound and the pops through the exhaust under no load, etc., but my wife is going to start using it for hauling horse trailers around, and is scared the sound might spook horses. Plus, she's not really a glass pack type of gal. 3OTT is coming out to in favor of the TH350. Sucking the testosterone right out of poor Old Mustard, but it'll actually be a nicer truck with all the other stuff being done to it, and something my wife can drive around.

Re: who has cherry bombs on their truck?
My brother has a set of 12 inch cherry bombs on his 71. The truck still has the original 307 but it has headers with 3 inch pipes dumping out in front of the rear tires. Its loud but awesome.

Re: who has cherry bombs on their truck?
I used to have them on my 68 that I sold. Every Saturday morning when I went to drive it, set off the neighbors alarms on their cars and trucks. It got old real quick.

Re: who has cherry bombs on their truck?
Just ordered the 3" in and out 30" long cherry bombs from Summit. A friend has a set on his 65, gonna run them on the 71 and out in front of back tire, they sound deep on his small block, can't wait to hear them on my big block.
