c10 65

i have a 65 c10 it hade the original 327 sbc and mounts im putting in a 383 sbc but the tall valve covers are hitting the fire wall what can i do so i dont have to cut my fire wall help any one

Move everything forward to the front mount holes in the frame, then change everything else from there back,- driveshaft, all linkage, etc, etc.
That's about your only option w/out modifying the firewall, as far as I know....

If you trim/bend the baffles, you can get short covers over roller rockers.

Maybe a set of valve covers that aren't quite so tall. I've never had a problem with taller than stock valve covers, that did clear roller rockers. If that isn't an option, then the only other thing you can do is as tincan1966 said....move the engine to the forward holes with the '67-'71 small block motor mount brackets. You can use your existing brackets, but you will have to drill the lower holes. In moving the engine forward, you will also have to move the bellhousing (if using a manual trans) and trans forward as well as a longer driveshaft.
