Safety precaution when removing trailing arms?

Any words of advise? I need to remove my trailing arms. Any particular order in doing so?
Steps I have gathered so far from searching on the board are as follows.
1.Block front wheels
2. Jack up rear frame place jack stands
3. Use jack to lift the rearend up.
4. Unbolt the front first. Let lay.
5. Unbolt the ubolts.
6. Unbolt the spring cups last?
Does this seem like a good order? Are the springs under a load?

I'd get 4 jack stands (2 under frame 2 under axle) then drop coil spring and u bolts then unbolt at cross member. Many ways to do it, I guess whichever feels safest to you

Are the springs under a load? I dont want them flying out and smacking me.

They will be under load if you use a jack to lift the rearend up. I would use a jack to support the rear end, but wouldn't lift the rearend with the jack.
I would chock the front wheels.
Jack the rear of the truck up by putting a jack under the rearend.
Put two jackstands on each side (four total) just to be safe. Lower the frame onto the jackstands.
Once you are confident the stands are holding properly let the rearend down, you will see the springs drop too.
