I bought a champion radiator and fan combo from ebay, the 16 in fan is extremely loud. wondering if I should go back to a pulley fan? any thoughts?

Re: fan questions

64,

I have twin SPAL fans that are pretty loud but since they are temperature controlled it is rare that one ever runs (unless I idle for an extended period).

Never need both unless the AC is running on hot days (The AC system pressure controls the fans if the AC is on).

Are u using a shroud? My experience, with mechanical fans, has been they are quieter if used without shrouds, yet not as effective.

I bought the same setup off eBay and mine is so quiet I don't know if its running. Might be defective?

I think he's running a 16" electric fan if I'm reading his post right. If he has what I think he bought, his fan is plastic.
