Fuel Tanks - Repair or Replace?

I am getting ready to finally get working on my fuel tanks in the next few weeks when the warmer weather will start to hit. I know that my drivers side tank has a crack in it, and the passenger side has a small leak.

I've been reading through some of the threads on gas tanks which are very helpful. I was wondering if anyone has had any luck with this tank - or has any suggestions on where to go to get one, or if it is worth it to try and repair. Thanks.

Mines a Jimmy tank, but mine looked underoated from the bottom,
a grease mark not a hole
had holes tho in the top, rocks in the sender, return was leaking
I replaced it
with the price of gas it dosn't take long for a leak(even vapours) to add up

Go new tank and check the usual suspects for pricing. I don't know about the quality of tanks from different vendors, but I think new would always be better than patched up.

Considering gas tanks contain a very flammable liquid that could turn your truck into to a pile of ashes if its allowed to leak, I don't see repair as an option. Buy a new tank and sleep well at night.

Re: Fuel Tanks - Repair or Replace?

New ones are $60 - $80 each, repairing the old ones are not even worth it at those prices.
