Where to buy bench seat hog rings and pliers?

Fence rings are larger and heavier wire. Automotive rings tend to be sharper as well. Try finding a on-line auto trim supplier. Good pliers are a must, cheap pliers are an absolute pita. If you want, email any item specific links for on-line or ebay and I'll take a look at them.

Actually the rings might work out well for your application. The reason I say this is your cover is a basic bag and attached at the edge. If it were say a styled cover like a bucket that uses listing wires on the seating and back faces to pull the cover into the foam shape and hog-ringed to molded in wire forms. Then I would want a small sharp ring.

The pliers might work. They may be too big at the tip end. The spring is a big help too. I'd buy some rings and run by HF to try a pair if they stock them. If they close the ring down to a round pencil size you are good to go. However the tips might need grinding, back toward the cups, to get into tight spots. Most pro pliers have a real high taper to make tips as small as possible. So forget any of the cast metal type pliers you see with a 1/8th or so flat ledge around the tip cups.
