1964 C10 2wd lift

Hi I have a 1964 Chevy C10 2wd. Im looking to try to lift it 4''-6''. My goal is to try and avoid doing a 4x4 frame swap. Looking for suggestions and to see if anyone has done it. I have pictures of what it looks like now and a poorly done photoshop version of what im looking to achieve.

Thanks

Somebody has put a lot of work into that truck already. I'd suggest you leave it as is.

Agreed with those above. The truck looks great as it sits. If you're dead set on lifting it, I'd start with a different truck.

There actually was a quad steer in the early 60's. They were used by the military to measure the blast area of bombs. Had a pic somewhere....will try and find it.

Re: 1964 C10 2wd lift

check out this build:
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=282398

other than that: my only ideas are a 2-3 inch body lift.

then for frame mods:

you could put some 2 inch spacers between the front suspension and frame rails, but seems like a lot of work would go into fixing the steering.

if it was a leaf spring truck the back would be easy, but since it is a trailing arm style the problem you will have is that the higher up you go the farther forwar the wheel will move...
that said if you "flip" the axle you might get 3 inches in the rear...just switch the trailing arm perches to the top of the axle housing, instead of the bottom... also maybe some spacers between the coil springs and the frame.
