Broncos are better than Blazers

AND UGLIER!! they left out that part...

Here's some blue oval propaganda from 1979 given to f*#d salesmen to dupe the unsuspecting public (for instance the square headlights were a selling point over the much despised "round" headlights ). 6 pages of Bronco vs. Blazer. Very interesting...

interesting read...

if the Bronco would have been available with the 300 cube L6, I think that would have been an actual better vehicle. I don't really care for the 351 and 400 W and M engines. But with the 300 six, NP435 tranny, NP205 transfer case, dana 44 front, and 9 inch rearend, the Bronco is hard to beat. Also notice how the full time 4wd is an option on the Bronco. How many full time 4x4 Bronco's or F-series trucks have you seen? Not many, thats for sure. And unfortunately, all the Blazers were. Plus teh Bronco had more common 5 lug wheels. just my 2 cents.

also, it says the Bronco doesn't have a convertible top, but the Blazer does...i thought both had the removable "half roof" over the rear cargo area. hmm.

From what I can tell the Bronco top was Standard equipment, the Blazer top was a $100 option?

I wonder how many were ordered with a bench seat in the front? That's something I've considered for my Blazer but it would have had to be a split bench unless you're a gymnast!

i think they do, i test drove a '78 or '79 Bronco a while back that had dual benches. the front one was a split, but i have no idea if it was original or not. guy was asking only $300(!), body was pretty much trash, but had under 50k miles, had been used as a plow truck...came with the plow too! but we went back the next day with $ and it was gone. Oh well, if I would have bought it I wouldn't be writing this on this wonderful site now.

I was going to have 78 Bronco for my first car. I really liked it. But the tie-rods were bad I I ended up getting a 2wd s10 blazer.
It is pretty obvious that the pamphlet was printed by F*rd.

I have a neighbor that has a 79 bronco that is full time 4wd. He hates it. Right now it's sitting in his backyard w/ a dead cylinder(no compression). I believe it's a 400M engine, he's ging to drop a built 302 in one day.

Although you all do make very good points about the 78-79 Bronco's. The 66-77 Bronco's take the cake. Don't get me wrong I have an appreciation for all the classics. Here's my view, my 69 bronco has everything my 70 blazer has, a full convertible top(both), Dana 44 front end, 9inch rear end vs 12 bolt rear end, power steering (both), power brakes (both), well built 351w vs 350 chevy but my Bronco has a fully boxed frame (STOCK), Blazer C channel. The Bronco has a tighter turning radius, is packed full of full sized power stuuffed into a smaller tighter packege. All I'm sayin' is don't knock em till you've tried em.

Hey I forgot to mention that the Blazer is for sale.

I do believe 66-77 Bronco's are the best looking of the Bronco's. A full convertible that keeps the window frames just doesn't look right too me. Also, Those wierd looking rear wheel wheels are gross too.

I'm pretty much a die hard chevy fan, but I think Project Crazyhorse turned out pretty cool!

i was under the impression that the largest engine the 66-77's came with was the 302. did you swap it in?

if we REALLY had to pick sides, i'd take a 1980 Scout II. T-18 or T-19 4 spd tranny (always forget which), Dana 300 transfer, Nissan turbodiesel, dana 44 front and rear, full convert (no window frames), no weird wheelwells like bronco, and a little more uncommon. or, any year Scout II with 345 V8, but '80 was the only year for the 300. Internationals suffer because they seemed to be made of compressed rust, though.

1969 GMC - Yeah my bronco originally came with a 302 but the guy I bought the truck from pulled the motor and tranny out, so I thought Why not give It more Power and put the 351W In It .My bronco window frames are Chopped and capped for the full look but I have extra set of doors If I change my mind.

2wd Blazer -- What do you mean by Gross fender Wells??Please Explain.?.?

Hey Bucket O Rust --- you're gonna have to come up with something a little better than that to try and make your point. Oh and by the way It seems that every blazer that I've come across has had some of the worst rust that I could Imagine and I'm from PHOENIX. Especially 67-72 chevy trucks and Blazers. not to mention that 3 out of 4 of them, the frames cracked in some stupid place and that's just from light four wheelin'.

Again I still say Don't knock em' till you try em'..hey I will concede to the point that a stock for stock truck the Blazer's do have a better look to them.

Rear fender well drops low and covers like half the rear tire.

I have a 69 bronco trail rig.Bushwacker flares take care of the rear fenders. You pull the hinge pins and the whole door comes off.
