powder coating

Anyone ever try to reproduce the chrome look with powder coat? I know the brightest silver will gray out some when it's cleared, but won't know how much until it's done. Just wondering if anyone has any experience good or bad
it is way less expensive than chrome I just need it to pop

Re: powder coating

The above pic shows it best, but when thinking powdercoat faux-chrome at its cleanest and shiniest it'll basically look like dull unpolished and neglected real chrome if it sits without polishing for a while

Re: powder coating

Thanks for the info/pics. Still pondering, but at 70.00 a wheel it's hard to pass up. They quit making the wheel I have and the closest I've found is 140.00pr. Hell this isn't going to Barrett Jackson, just need to pull the trigger.....
