rear disc conversion
so can i get some thoughts on rear disc brake conversion kits??? I have a 72 SWB and I'm throwing around the idea of rear disc brakes. Is it worth the money? and who has the best kit for the job and cash??
Thanks |

Re: rear disc conversion
I've priced around and this company is one of the cheapest I've seen.

Re: rear disc conversion
i build my own using 4wd front caliper mounts and welding them on for 6 lug and 8 lug apps i use the same mounts and calipers on 5 luggers and awd astro van roters for 5 luggers, for these i turn a spacer to center roter on axel rather than relying on the wheel studs to do so i use 76 eldorodo rear calipers for mechanical parking brake. first 1 i did i bought caliper brackets but i dont think they support the calipers as well as the dana 44 ones

Re: rear disc conversion
Check in the Vendors Marketplace. Capt Fab has a very well designed kit that he sells.

Re: rear disc conversion
i replied in capnfabs thread about if he does kits and/or 8lug stuff.
i sent an email to the blackbird guy becasue i dont know which kit i should be looking at. he told me to take some pics and hell let me know. quick response which is cool. but now ive seen those wilwood setups and im drooling. I just like the idea of a kit becasue i dont really know what i should be looking for. |

Re: rear disc conversion
I have a Disc/Disc pproportioning valve.......you could stick an inline valve in it too to adjust the pressure.
