Factory Tach works Intermittently

I'm trying to figure out why the factory reproduction tach I have will work sometimes and other times not?

It's a reproduction tach from Brothers and the ignition is the standard points/condenser and coil setup.

When I bought it (about 1 year ago), it worked without issue for about 8 months, then started to act up.

Any suggestions or similar issues would be great!

Start the truck and wiggle wiring if you can with someone watching the tach. See if that makes it stop.

Next call Brother's and see if their tech department can lend a hand. Next check for a warranty on the unit.

Does the tach only work when the egine is running? Is that what you meant by intermittently? Sorry I could not help it I need sleep and am slappy. I apologize in advance if you are not able to take a joke on this subject ,I know sometimes truck problems can make our tempers short.. Jim

Re: Factory Tach works Intermittently

I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem? Maybe the tach is junk, but I wanted to ask the question before I bought a replacement.
