Re: Drive line shop in Sacramento?

Recently purchased a 66 C10 with a 454, TH 400, Gear Vendors OD and a 9" Ford with 3.55 gears. The drive line is stout, but has a harmonic vibration between 65 & 85 MPH. Plus the tranny seal and pinion seals are leaking. All this is out of my wrenching comfort zone. Looking for a shop in the Sacramento area. Thx

Yeah I won't be able to help there, I dont know the shops there. But the drive line balance probably killed the seals. Once you find someone to fix the seals, take the shaft to the place i told ya about it'll be smooth as glass

Re: Drive line shop in Sacramento?

Unless you have a driveshaft ballancer it doesn't matter if its within your wrenching comfort zone. We could sell you one for about $30k, its a lot cheaper to have a driveline shop check out and ballance your shaft. Hopefully you haven't ruiled the tailshaft bushing or tranny yoke yet.
Id help but shipping to missouri would cost as much as the ballance. We have a couple of shops in california but without looking at a map I couldn't tell you how close they are to sacremento, pretty sure nobody speaks english at either one. Lol

Tail shaft bushing, tranny yoke, drives shaft balance, etc...all reasons I need a pro.
