talked to a local yard and they said they'd get me a 5.3, harness and 2wd 4l60e trans pedals with under 100k miles for 1600 buxs does this sound right?

It depends on the market in your area. That combo doesn't seem terrible for the money, assuming that your really getting the FULL pullout, ecm etc. If it looks good, you can always make an offer on the price. The price isn't way out of line tho.

Sounds good to me. I picked up a 6.0L with 4l80e, ecu, harness, pedal, etc, with approx. 70k miles for $1700.

That's a reasonable price IMO assuming it's nut and bolt complete.
FWIW, I just paid 2k for a 60k top to bottom 05 LQ4/4L80E, complete down to the p/s and trans cooler hoses.
