Source for Turnkey LS GENIII 5.3L and 6.0L
I found a source for 5.3L and 6.0L engines. He's over on Pirate4x and seems to have some good feedback... I havent purchased yet but I think this is the route I'll be going in the spring.... 4 wire hookup and you're ready to go... he doesn't deal in transmissioins though...
Here's his info... LINK BD TURNKEY ENGINES are GM GENIII Engines that are obtained from wrecking yards primarily from California. They are 5.3L & 6.0L engines from trucks & suv’s. I stipulate they must be clean, free of unusual corrosion, and have no more than 100,000 miles. These are the “cream of the crop” of junkyard engines. The 5.3L & 6.0L GM engines are great engines for modern aftermarket projects. The 5.3L produces a legitimate 300hp, and the 6.0L, 325hp in stock form. With a good tune that I provide, these numbers go to around 325hp and 350hp respectably. With the addition of the Z06 / LS6 camshaft it is estimated that it pushes the 5.3L to 350+hp, and the 6.0L to 375+hp. These horsepower ratings are honest, naturally aspirated, and most importantly, RELIABLE – and AFFORDABLE! PRICES - OCTOBER, 2011 COMPLETE TURNKEY ENGINES 60-100k miles 5.3L LM7 -------------------$1995.00 5.3L LM7 w/ Z06 Cam ------ $2600.00 6.0L LQ4 ------------------- $2800.00 6.0L LQ4 w/Z06 Cam ------- $3400.00 6.0L LQ9 ------------------- $3800.00 Engines with 40-60k = +$350 Engines with less than 40k = +$700 Every engine is VIN verified via CarFax, compression tested, placed on a run-stand, and brought up to full temperature. All sensors are checked for proper function, as well as general engine performance. I do not dyno run engines. I encourage anyone interested in my engines to come by and see and hear the engine run for your self. It is very satisfying to know you are truly getting what you pay for, a TURNKEY ENGINE! |

HOLY CRAP.
we buy complete 5.3s (harness, PCM, accessories, starter, etc) for no more than $900 here and 6.0s are $1200ish. Mail order tunes are $150-$250.

Re: Source for Turnkey LS GENIII 5.3L and 6.0L
$$$$$ wow. I'll keep my complete, running, all accessories, harness, pcm 5.3 with 70k for $550. And $600 for a simple Z06 cam install, likely with stock springs...with the engine out of the vehicle?

I thought I got a decent buy on a 05 5.3 under 40 k for $700 no tranny or ecm though. Keep searching craigslist for guys parting out wrecked trucks and ebay sells a lot as well. People are usually asking too much for them, but you can talk them down.

I guess for the "Crate motor type" of guy this would work, but damn you pay for it.

Re: Source for Turnkey LS GENIII 5.3L and 6.0L
Those prices arent bad when you look here. BTW, these have everything but the tranny! PCM, Harness
These are some built engines and from what I have been told are well worth the investment, but far out of my reach. http://www.turnkeyenginesupply.com/c...treet-Engines/ I bought my fuel system from them also. high dollar but I have had no issues and it is alot quieter than most.

Re: Source for Turnkey LS GENIII 5.3L and 6.0L
Yeah, that guy is making good $ on those engines. But, he has to get them nut and bolt complete which is tough to do. Most yards are big fans of cutting and hacking things apart vs. unplugging connectors.
