gas tanks and pumps

I'm putting a 5.3 into an 1988 chevy short box ,what is the best way to go as far as a fuel tank goes with a pump ,can I use the stock 1988 tank or or go to the donor truck tank and pump which is 2002

You can use your '88 tank and sender, just swap the pump it's self out for a higher pressure one. You can get a Walbro255 that will fit right into your sender. Super easy.
