Got new truck, what to do now!

Sorry I originally posted this in the wrong section, just got this truck and have to prioritize what will be the first thing to do to it, best I can tell it was owned by the same man till not long ago and when he died it was sold in an estate sale it appears to have 68K original miles, pdb, ps, a/c that works (don't think its been converted to 134 yet) it is a unmolested 100% original truck. I have the original tires and wheels with hubcaps, the steering wheel is only thing not stock. Cool thing is I also got original owners manual, 71 truck brochure (with exact same Cheyenne model and color on the front) build sheet, protecto-plate warranty card, contract with finance agreement and delivery sheet. Drive it about 150 miles home and it ran fine, all lights work and gauges, a/c and heat work, the only thing radio doesn't work. Has some hesitation from carb but will rebuild soon. We think when original owner put the camper shell on also had a freshen up paint job on truck, it does have a little rust on door bottoms and cab corners, the bed is in great shape, bumpers are straight and grill is perfect. Cant wait to get started! Will upload pics soon, cant upload now something about a security token???

Nice find! That is a gorgeous original truck! Sounds like you got the required maintenance items sorted to get her running reliably but you are very lucky to have found such a nice example without any major problems or issues.
Keep the updates(and the mods - oh, they will start) coming!

That's an awesome truck! I wish I could find one like that.

The camper shell wouldn't be so hideous if it was solid white.

That's funny,I was just thinking how tempted I'd be to leave that cap on (you can take them on & off easily) because it's so well matched. But,mostly because I'm about grabbing a period and going with it. This truck with that cap is so nostalgic. These trucks for many were a handsome utility vehicle, not their #1 toy. I could see this towing (with air lifts) a drag car straight out of the '70s

Re: Got new truck, what to do now!

Congrats on a great find! That truck looks great and I love that it has been kept original. The cap probably kept the bed and box looking like new. More photos needed!

Very nice. I love the color combination. The fact that the A/C works is priceless.

Have fun
